Dublin - GP

My brother is a GP here in Dublin, in a well renowned and established practice. It is on the local train line (DART) and is about 15 mins from the Google offices.

His name is Gerard Mansfield and as you will see from their web site, there are many Doctors in the practice, all of whom would be highly recommended.

Denmark - GP

Birgitte Thorsen

Frederiks Allé 111, 1. th.
DK-8000 Århus C

Los Altos, CA -- Primary Care/GYN

Here's a local doctor in Los Altos who I like a lot.

Dr. Patricia ("Nikki") Muller.
Gynecology / Primary Care
(650) 941-4450895
Sherwood Avenue, Suite 100, Los Altos (about 10 minutes from here).

Dr. Muller is a gynecologist who does primary care. She was a nurse long ago, and then an obstetrician for a long time, but she got tired of the long hours and now does mostly primary care in her own practice.
Pros: Friendly and easy to talk to. Takes as much time as needed with each patient; 30- or 45-minute appointments are not uncommon. LGBT-friendly. Seems to know her limits and refers to other doctors when appropriate.
Cons: Doesn't accept any insurance, so you have to submit the claim forms yourself. Sometimes she talks a lot.

Pennsylvania--Pediatrician/Anesthesiologist

*James (Jim) Childs - Kittaning, PA - Pathology
- reason: he's myuncle (I have no knowledge of his medical skills)

* Robert (Bob) Childs - Hazleton, PA - Pediatrician
- reason: he's myuncle. I don't know his medical skills, but he lives for his work; forexample, I don't think he owns a "serious" tie, they all look like a fish or something.

Florida-Nephrologist/Anesthesiologist

* Clarence Applegate - Tallahassee, FL - Nephrology
- reason(s): (1)He's my father (2) When I did work in an ER, my interactions with him(although limited) were all very positive.

* Mark Applegate - soon to be Tallahassee, FL, but right nowGainesville, FL - Anaesthesiology
-reason: he's my brother, so Itrust him personally (I have no knowledge of his medical skills)*

California, Menlo Park

Dr. Mary Chan

Menlo Medical Clinic
Menlo Park
650-498-6500

"I have been seeing a gastroenterologist for the past few months and am quite happy with her. I saw a few doctors for the same issue before I was referred to her, and she was the first who I felt really listened to me and took the time to explain things in a way I'd understand".

California, Palo Alto

Dr. Sandra Horning and Dr. Ranjana Advani at Stanford Medical Center for treatment of Hodgkins Disease.

"They're among the top researchers in the country (Dr. Horning is one of the developers of the Stanford V chemotherapy treatment), yet they still treat patients. Their research nurse, Sheila Breslin, is also top-notch. Getting an appointment with them requires going through Stanford's new patient coordinators - your best bet is to search their web site for contact info".

GP/Sports medicine in Melbourne

Dr Peter Lewis, Sports medicine, but good for general practice as well.

Recreation Medical Centre

Armadale VIC 3143

Phone: (03) 9509 5922

"My doctor in Melbourne (Australia) was awesome. We don't have an office in Melbourne, but if people are travelling there and need a doctor. One of the best things about him (apart from really, really caring about his patients) is that he understands the constraints of busy lifestyles, so he will often give you treatment choices between the"here's what I think you should do" and "here's what we can do if youreally need to be back on your feet quickly".And he used to only charge the government recommended fee, thenbecause he had too many patients he increased it by $5 (effectivelynothing). He also has extended hours".

He "was the physician I went to in Leesburg, VA(near the DC metroplex) before I moved out of the area. Here's a local blurb http://pages.areaguides.com/medical/mathis.htm. He's a mind/body specialist (prescribes drugs when needed, butprefers other approaches - diet, meditation, when they would be moreeffective) Plus he's a really nice guy.
Thanks for compiling the list".

90 Sullivan Street, New York,
NY, 212 343 3040.

"I've been seeing Dr. Chambliss for years. He is incredibly intelligent and, improbably, is extremely empathic as well. Also, his fondness for using technology to provide better care is a good match for Googlers. If he doesn't know something, he's quick to admit it and quick to find the answer".

Chicago

Dr. Paul V. Szyperski

Northwestern Memorial Hospital
676 N. Saint Clair, #2300
Chicago, IL 60611(312) 296-6000

"Dr. Szyperski (the z is silent) is an internal medicine physician who specializes in Cardiac Care, Cholesterol, Diabetes and Preventive Medicine. He is a younger doctor (Case Western MD '96, University of Hospitals of Cleveland Residency) who I feel comfortable with since I am also a young person (mid 20s). He is straightforward and assuring. I feel very comfortable around him and feel that he is a very good internist. He is in a suite with a group of doctors who are all associated with NMH and specialize in cardiac care. They all work together when it comes to the best care possible for their patients. One of the more well known patients to this group of doctors is Roger Ebert. If Dr. Szyperski isn't available, any of the other doctors in this suite are also well qualified. "
